2024: The Year of Gen AI

As I start 2024, I keep thinking about how fast AI is changing our world. Just a year ago, tools like ChatGPT were new and exciting. Now, Generative AI is becoming part of daily life — how we work, how we learn, and even how we walk through our day.

I often go for my morning walk here in Dubai, and lately I imagine what the future will look like. A world where AI is not just software on a screen, but a real companion helping us, working beside us, maybe even walking with us.

2024 feels like the year Gen AI moves from "interesting technology" to "everyday reality." For those of us in cybersecurity, this brings both excitement and responsibility. AI will help us defend faster and smarter. But it will also be used by attackers in new ways. The organizations that prepare now with the right skills, the right governance, and the right mindset will be the ones ready for what's coming.

Here's to 2024 — the Year of Gen AI.
